4/15/2016 0 Comments Creativity and Imagination366 Dyas of Creativity Week in Review: 4.8.16-4.14.16Bob Proctor was the guest on a podcast I was listening to this week and he said, "Imagination is magic!" I love that. I think this experiment in large part is about re-awakening my imagination. I've said before I'm always floored by how quickly and intuitively and crazily imaginatively kids can create using LEGO blocks. It just seems like it comes so easy to them and they have no trouble making things out of their imaginations. So I'm trying with this experiment to give myself permission to use my imagination and exit the standard house and car build. Use a block in a new way. Try piecing something together and not know how it is going to turn out. I'm trying to exit that adult thinking brain that says something should like this and it doesn't look like that. I'm trying to have fun and play. It was pretty magical on Day 101 when I went outside to take a picture of my imaginative creation and I literally found a kite in my backyard. So I flew a kite! Makes me think of my vision board for my word of the year (Magic, in case you were curious). It has collaged on it a piece that says, "Let's make today fun." I hope you try and make everyday fun. And I hope you play and use your imagination. The following quote from Alice in Wonderland is really perfect too because for me this is a practice. It's something that came naturally as a kid but all the comparison, responsibilities, expectations, fears, perfectionism, worries, etc. have gotten in the way. So now I have to practice playing and using my imagination and creativity and having fun. All things are possible. Practice. Build. Create. Play. Dream. Believe. Imagine. Laugh. Fly. "Alice laughed: "There's no use trying," she said; "one can't believe impossible things."
