The above is an accurate representation of how most of my tea breaks looked.
Being your own boss means you get to say yes to whatever your heart desires.
So in addition to providing psychotherapy, I got to be creative with my business and have workshops and events as well to help people discover, play, grow, and love themselves more.
As a psychotherapist I always said I never wanted to have a private practice, it felt like too much responsibility to me. I knew where I was wasn’t working for me though, and I took a leap. And with a lot of help and support, I founded my own business, Daring Discoveries, PLLC. But first it was Daring Discoveries, LLC until I realized I couldn’t do that legally since I am a licensed professional (thus the P stands for Professional), that wasn’t a scary moment or anything. But that’s why we are not alone and have friends and a dear colleague Leah McCoy directed me to a resource who was able to walk me through the paperwork to change my legal status so I didn’t have to scrap my business before I even started.
"You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep
My faith will stand
And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine"

"May you let yourself off your own hooks,
and spend more time playing hooky
and spontaneous dancing in daylight."
Those words were sent to me today by Shiloh Sophia and are from her poem entitled "The Glitter From the Grit."
