3/11/2016 1 Comment Creativity SpeaksWeek in Review: 3.4.26 - 3.10.16This past week I feel like I've gotten lots of messages about work and money and rest and doing your best. The messages came in many forms - quotes, LEGO creating, people, gifts, and more ways I'm sure I just can't remember. I continue to hear don't worry about the money and it's not about money. And I agree. I need to hear these messages though because my human business brain keeps thinking about money and what time is worth and if I am wasting time. Such a battle and I want to release and trust and know it's a practice. Because it's not about the money - that thinking is a trap in so many ways. It's about showing up in my life each day and making whatever I have decided to do the best I can. It's about enjoying the process and trusting that even if the outcome doesn't look how it imagined, it's worth it. And you know what it is. I sit here typing these words to you as I'm by myself at one of my art workshops. And I share that to be real and vulnerable, not to have anyone feel sorry for me or feel bad, because really, it's okay. It might not have been a year ago, or even a month ago, but it really is today. There are so many things about the process of preparing for the workshop I would never have traded (Alisa Burke Mandala Magic class for one thing -truly magic) and because I've already done one in this series I know that it is impactful for people and will continue to be in the future. On my way here this morning I was listening to my "Brave" playlist and these lyrics from the song "Get Up" by Superchick were speaking to my heart and soul: "I'm not afraid to fall. Yes, this life is about showing up and Daring Greatly and Rising Strong. It's about being brave. It's about making the bed and getting dressed nicely even if you aren't going anywhere. It's about making the tea even when you don't feel like it. It's about creating when you want to quit. It's about trusting and it's about loving each moment as much as we can. I'm not saying we can't piss and moan with perspective (that was my Monday, and okay Tuesday - please note the blue whale creation), but then we have to get back to what grounds us. And for me that is gratitude and trusting that there is enough of everything and trusting it's all unfolding just as it should. I'm so much happier when I live that way. So I will do my best, and I will try and view it all as play, and I will remember I am enough and loved, and I will fly. I hope you fly today, or at least dance. The one bonus of no one being here - private dance party to my Mandala March playlist and Wilson Phillips-Hold On just came on :) and yes, I may have watched Bridesmaids recently. Oh, you want to know about my LEGO process? Check out my thoughts on the Day 64 process on instagram. And below are this past week's creations with quotes. As a bonus since my husband took a picture on Day 65 of me creating, here's a creation of his from Day 66, loved that he played along with me (wonder what my dog was wanting to make ;). Are you playing with your bricks yet? As always, follow me on Intagram for all the scoop. See you next week!
