3/31/2016 0 Comments Creativity and InspirationWeek in Review: 3.25.16-3.31.16Can't believe I'm three months done. My art quote jar is almost empty so I've been working on getting the next batch ready. I am a quote collector and already had a document started and added more from my various places. Then I counted - 70! Oh no! I needed 270+. Thankfully my friend who gave me the quotes in the first place came to my rescue and had so many more. So I've been printing, cutting, and stuffing into my jar. So many quotes! I have noticed by making art to go with the quotes they stick with me much more. I had previously picked a quote each day for two months when I was practicing one of Brené Brown's guideposts for wholehearted living, but I don't remember those quotes. I read them and pasted them in a journal. But these quotes, I noticed when I was making sure I didn't repeat with my friend's list, I remembered. There is something really special about creating each day. It's crazy to me how different they all are. It's fun to sometimes realize how the quote inspired the creation more than I even recognized at first (Day 85 with simplify and I used the same pieces repeating). Kind of like when I come out wearing the same running shirt as my husband and I didn't realize it but my brain had registered it when I saw him. My mood definitely impacts the creations (Day 86 when I was wanting some more light energy). I tried not to look too closely at the new art quotes as I want to be surprised but this one did jump out at me and is so true. "Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures." Sometimes a LEGO piece will inspire the whole creation (Day 88 and that red game-looking piece). And then there are the days (89 and 91) that I have no idea what to do and I just go with what is calling to me - wheels and purple on day 89 and black and white on day 91. So I'm not sure what is inspiring you but know what you take in and focus on matters. Make sure you check input, including your own thoughts. I hope you are creating, however that looks in your life. I hope you are playing. I hope you are noticing beauty. I hope you are inspired.
