2/19/2016 1 Comment Creativity and Getting StartedWeek in Review: 2/12/16-2/18/16I am currently enrolled in two art e-courses, so I have been doing some painting along with my LEGO creations. One of the things I noticed is that I am much more free starting out with a painting. It's all about just getting paint and texture and variety on there and you can always cover it up later, in fact you usually do (which is a whole other part of the creative process). An example of one of my first layers But with building I noticed I will sit staring at my bins of blocks for a while before starting. I'll wait until I have an idea of a direction from the quote. What am I afraid of? I mean it's even easier than with painting because if I don't like the direction it's going in I just take it off. I mean it can be a little annoying if they stick and I have to use the special LEGO remover piece, but still. I mean the whole point is to play and see what happens. Flora Bowley, one of my art e-course teachers said this: "Remember, the more we play and explore without 'finished product' in mind, the more we discover along the way." So that is what I am going to try and do this week, check in next week to see how it went. P.S. Have you gotten your LEGO blocks out? Send me pictures and share please! You amaze me. I love what you are doing. Can I be you when I grow up?
