1/22/2016 0 Comments Creativity and BelievingWeek in Review: 1.15.16-1.21.16Well I did realize something kind of funny this week. My so called 365 Days of Creativity will actually be 366. 2016 is a Leap Year. I thought maybe I should take the day off when it comes, but I think I'll keep the streak alive. This post is going to be short and sweet because this week has been anything but short and sweet. Whether it's that you see what you need in things or things really are speaking to your life, the creativity quotes were spot on for me this week. The main themes were about focusing on process instead of outcome; the necessity of courage ; trusting in God for inspiration, help, and the big picture; keeping going even when things are messy or you fail; and to end before you begin a new direction. As of today I have officially ended a season of my life and am starting a new one with Daring Discoveries; I kept going on an art piece I wanted to stop and throw away it was such an ugly mess; I continue to walk forward in a new business and God continues to provide resources and help and literally inspiration (a friend gifted me with a LEGO kit [see Day 20] after a messy day); courage by letting others know honestly how I was doing; and definitely had to focus on the process when I did not get the outcome I wanted in a recent race. I'll leave you with this picture. As I said, a long week, and my brain was tired of making decisions, so for Day 19 I spread out all of my LEGO bins, set a timer for 9 minutes (who knows why that amount), closed my eyes and kept them shut and just felt for pieces to place to make a creation. It makes me think of the movie How To Train Your Dragon 2 where Toothless, the dragon, was blindfolded to keep out the power of the negative so he could be led by good and break free.
