My Essential Oil Journey

Picture
Since I signed up as a DoTERRA Wellness Advocate and got my first kit of oils in October 2016, I thought I’d tell you my essential oil story to commerate my anniversary!

I am a super sensitive person, especially with smells, so I avoided all fragrances in my home and with my skincare products.
When I first began hearing about essential oils I dismissed them as I figured they wouldn’t be for me for that reason.

I started going to Barefoot Girl Yoga studio though, and the owner used essential oils during savasana if you wanted them. I assumed I would have to opt out, but I found I loved them and how they enhanced my relaxation experience at the end of class and I noticed unusually, they didn’t bother me at all.

Then I learned from a Thyroid Yoga® training I did that there were essential oils that could be used to help with your thyroid, and as a person with an autoimmune thyroid condition, I was always looking for natural ways to support myself on my journey of reducing my toxin load and healing.

I knew I wanted to learn more but was still skeptical, however, I was lucky enough to attend a class at the studio during my yoga teacher training from the founder of the Natural Living Co-op in League City and learned so much about the natural healing power of certified therapeutic grade essential oils.

From there, I signed up to become a doTERRA Wellness Advocate and began purchasing a few new oils each month in my loyalty rewards order to fully try and discover. I also started reading books and research on essential oils and learning as much as I could.

Even though I may have almost every kind of oil there is now, I’m always still learning and I'm also still super cautious when it comes to oils and how to safely and effectively use them. I am also still learning to use them in ways that show appreciation for just how valuable they are.

I remember at first thinking these would solve everything, and still continue to learn, nothing is a magic pill. Even with that, I love being able to incorporate oils into my life that are quality and they definitely have provided me with so many benefits.

I use them with my workshops for a more sensory experience, in my psychotherapy practice to access the emotional benefits, and at home. The oils just help with whatever I may be experiencing and to shift a mood or pain and support my healing journey.

I get so excited when I see other's going on a journey of discovery and I started putting out a monthly Essential Oil Newsletter earlier this year because I'm passionate about sharing the information I've learned and continue to learn about how to use these highly concentrated and powerful plant medicines safely and effectively. I think it's so important to be conservative when it comes to essential oils and treat them with respect.

As a doTERRA Wellness Advocate I am able to help you with purchasing high quality oils by enrolling and sponsoring and can help you figure out the best path for your personal needs. Feel free to contact me with any questions and I would be happy and honored to be of help to you.

I hope hearing my journey was helpful to you and please don't hesitate to contact me at anytime with questions or if you are ready to start getting your own high quality plant medicines.

Please note: I've been learning about essential oils since October 2016. I am a wellness advocate for doTERRA and can help you with learning about and purchasing certified therapeutic grade essential oils. I am not an aromatherapist or medical doctor and none of this is intended to be medical advice in any way. I'm just sharing what I know at one moment in time and encourage you to always discover and research on your own and your choice to use essential oils is at your own risk.
