6/20/2018 2 Comments Don't Worry, You Look GreatI love messages. And messages are everywhere. I discovered the message above when I was retreating last year at 1440 MultiUniversity. It was in the women's bathroom in their Kitchen Table Building. And then I got curious – do the men have a message and what is it? I went to ask one of the staff what the men’s room said and she didn’t know. So I did what had to be done. Younger me would have just knocked and hollered in and saw for myself. Older me patiently waited outside the door for someone to come out. And after a few minutes, a man did and I managed not to scare him, and he told me yes, it said, “Don’t worry, you look great.” We all need messages, it doesn’t matter what gender, age, race, that we are, we all need to hear that are worth and loveability are not tied up in our looks and outside appearance. We are great and beautiful just as we are. I had so much fun replicating those messages at my most recent Self-Compassion Saturday and I think they were a big hit! And yes, this time I did go into the men's room, but I mean, I had to put the sign up :) What messages are being reflected back to you right now?
What do you need to believe about your image?

A daily affirmation can make a big impact to ourselves. We should always remind ourselves the positive things that we possess and we should always say it to ourselves so that we will be strengthened by our own words. The words that we say can affect us a lot and we can totally take over the words that we think of. The positive things that we can think of can be a acquired through daily practice and we can all do it if we have the right mindset. The right mindset and the right attitude will take us to a point where we are mentally healthy. Everything will be in good shape.

Thanks for commenting sharing those powerful words. I loved "strengthened by our own words..." I really get a visual on that.
