10/26/2016 2 Comments Creativity Review366 Days of Building Creativity Week 43 in Review: October 21st-27thWhere have you been? Where are you going? I've started asking myself those questions as there are only 65 days left in the year. Yes, you know how many days are left when you are doing a daily creativity project :) This week seems to be a reminder of all I have learned and what I need to keep remembering. Embrace imperfection. The cracks connect. As well as telling me it's time to savor what has ripened. That through faith and faithfulness, there is fruit to be enjoyed. And now that this year of discovery is coming to a close and I have reached a different shore, what is in store? What is there to discover? Coach, artist, and author, Cynthia Morris, offered a free annual review webinar that was so helpful, especially as it is my first year having my own creative business. I'm definitely going to be spending some time this next month reflecting, and I will hopefully be courageous enough to share with you. I encourage you to reflect and remember as well. Reviewing is for everyone, whether you have a business or not. I'm sure most of us haven't given ourselves enough credit for all we have done and learned this year. Remember what you have accomplished this year. Remember how you were daring for trying things even if they didn't work. Remember what you discovered and created and what inspired you. Days 295-301Day 295 “Our God fills in our cracks and puts our broken pieces back together with something more beautiful and precious than gold. In order to show the world that we believe in a God who fixes the broken things, we need to bare our scars in our art and in our lives.” -Rachel Haltiwanger Day 296 "Who told you that one paints with colors? One makes use of colors, but one paints with emotions." -Jean-Baptiste-Simeon Chardin Day 297 "Your new gift of capturing God's love on canvas is a blessing to not only your capabilities but to all who are enjoying them. I believe God has some surprising blessings in store for you for your faithfulness for this new gift He has given you." -Donald Carnes Day 298 "Adventures don't begin until you get into the forest. That first step is an act of faith." -Mickey Hart Day 299 "Perfection is the voice of the oppressor, the enemy of the people. It will keep you cramped and insane your whole life." -Anne Lamott Day 300 "You cannot swim for new horizons until you have courage to lose sight of the shore." -William Faulkner Day 301
"I think about that ‘empty’ space a lot. That emptiness is what allows for something to actually evolve in a natural way. I’ve had to learn that over the years- because one of the traps of being an artist is to always want to be creating, always wanting to produce." -Meredith Monk

Thanks for the challenge to review my year. Did the 15 minute version and the 1 hour version. Both were good information and always good to reflect on what has happened. Couldn't have accomplished several things without you. SO thankful for my Lee Ann.

You are amazing and can't wait to review with you :) I'm hoping to do mine this week and feel the same about you being essential to me.
