8/18/2016 0 Comments Creativity Changes You366 Days of Building Creativity Week 33 in Review: August 12th-18thI wonder how this experiment would have been different if I was just free building every day without pulling an art quote first? The art quotes are magical. They are like daily permission slips to take the time to do this experiment. They are my encouragers, my normalizers, my supporters, my allies. I've started a new daily journal that encourages you to have inspiration in your day. Something you read or do that gives you daily inspiration. I hadn't realized until just now that is what the art quotes are for me- daily inspiration. The messages in the art quotes speak to me. They encourage but also challenge me. They make me see the world in a new way. And they are healing me. I truly feel myself starting to believe in the power of creativity and art. I'm also starting to believe more in myself and watch my thoughts and make sure I am trusting the process and not casting doubt and spewing fear. Just this week I was reminded to be mindful, to see wonder, to trust that nothing is wasted, to take action, and to allow time for me and art. What is your daily dose of inspiration? What fills you up and encourages you? I just looked up the definition of inspiration and one piece of the definition from Merriam-Webster is "the act of drawing in; specifically: the drawing of air into the lungs." What are you drawing in everyday? Is it healthy and encouraging? Or is it toxic and negative? Because it truly does matter and does change you. I hope you will make sure you are drawing in beauty and positivity each day. I hope maybe even following along on my Instagram daily and reading the quotes for yourself and seeing the creation inspires you. Whatever it is, make sure you are filling with good. Days 225-231Day 225 "Life is short. Art is long. Get in the habit." -Danny Gregory Day 226 "This - this was what made life: a moment of quiet, the water falling in the fountain, the girl's voice... a moment of captured beauty. He who is truly wise will never permit such moments to escape." -Louis L'amour Day 227 "I just don't believe in wasted paint or wasted layers. It's all a part of the story. Different chapters in the story." -Flora Bowley Day 228 "Whatever you think you can do or believe you can do, begin it. Action has magic, grace, and power in it." -Goethe Day 229 "Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul... Whether seventy or sixteen, there is in every being's heart a love of wonder; the sweet amazement at the stars and starlike things and thoughts; the undaunted challenge of events, the unfailing childlike appetite for what comes next, and the joy in the game of life." -Samuel Ullman Day 230 "So I ask you, are you really too busy to spend 30 minutes or an hour a day working on your art? Do you really have no time at all to take a workshop and learn something new or get re-inspired? Seriously?!?" -Gwen Fox Day 231
"All our dreams can come true- if we have the courage to pursue them." -Walt Disney
